Arts Alliance
The Arts Alliance is a volunteer organization of parents and staff that support the Arts of Purnell Swett High School in numerous capacitties.
Our focus is on scholarship and service in the arts.
The goals of our oranization is to provide funding, and promote the arts in our community. The ultimate dream is to obtain recognition for an Arts Auditorium with a small Auditoririum and arts rooms on campus.

Shantonia Chavis-Bullard- Visual Arts
Shantonia has been teaching 17 years. She obtained her Bachelors and her Masters from the University of NC at Pembroke. Her concentration is in Painting with a minor in Computer Graphics and a major in American Indian Studies. Shantonia is a graduate of Purnell Swett High School and is an advocate for the arts and the students in the school. She is a pastel artist, painter, ceramic artist, works in digital media but Batiking cotinues to be her favorite medium. Discovering a joy for running has proven a new acheivement and she looks forward to new accomplishments. She is the sponsor of the National Art Honor Society at PSHS. Her vision is an arts wing with an auditorium for the students and coommunity of Purnell Swett High School.
Shelia Godwin- Visual Arts
Shelia Godwin has been an Art Teacher for 28 years with the Robeson County School System. She loves teaching high school art students. Shelia is a professional artist and enjoys creating her own works of art. She also designs regalias for local pageant contestants, designs gourds, paints, draws portraits amongst many others forms of art.

Jaclyn Waite- Vocal Music
Jaclyn Waite has been the vocal music teacher at Purnell Swett since March 2010. She graduated with a Bachelor of the Arts in Music and a certificate in entrepreneurship from UNC-Pembroke in 2009. In January 2014, she obtained her Master's Degree in Human Resources Management from Argosy University. In addition to teaching, she also coaches the girls and boys swim team and directs an after-school pop choir called Infinite Harmony.
